As I said, what REALLY annoyed me was the lack of co-op. But everyone who wants Doom 1+2 as well as Resurrection of Evil have either got them already via Steam or XBLA. It would have been a decent package if it were released several years ago. Mods for vanilla Doom 3 do not work on BFG edition, rendering years of cool new maps, mods and graphical enhancements useless. The versions of Doom 1 and Doom II included aren't even the best versions of the game. Removed dynamic shadows from the game, giving it a more 'static' look. To be honest, this was the only thing I was really looking forward to. No co-op Doom 3 which even the orignal Xbox version had. Upscaled the game to higher resolutions without touching the textures, which in turn just makes the game look blurrier than it used to. Game natively supports HD resolutions - But so could the original game with a few simple config tweaks Quite frankly, as long as the product is good - I couldn't care less what platform it's on. It's not that they've gone to console either. They honestly used to be one of my all-time favorite developers. What IS bullshit is the absolute lack of care from id Software. This isn't uncommon per se, most maps reuse things from past levels all the time, but it's as if they didn't even TRY to vary it up. The Lost Mission was the only genuinely new part of the BFG edition and it seems as though it uses recycled prefabs from past levels. Now say what you want about the main game, I like Doom 3 (and RoE) and still play it to this day, thanks to a rather large mod community. I think people are over exaggerating, but they have a point.
